"The short rib over grits is the best thing I've eaten all year, and I do not say that lightly. We sat at the bar, the staff treated us like regulars by dessert, and we'll be back next week."

One small room, a lot of butter.
I opened The Farish House in 2017 with a borrowed mixer and a stubborn idea — that a neighborhood deserves a place where the food tastes like someone actually cares about it. No white tablecloths, no tweezers. Just good cooking and a warm room.
Almost everything here starts from scratch. We bake the bread, we pickle the pickles, we break down whole animals and chase down the farms two towns over for the vegetables. The menu changes when the season tells it to, not when a printer says so.
Come as you are — straight from work, with the kids, on a first date, or alone with a book at the bar. We saved you a seat.
